NDIS Behaviour Support
Some children, teens, and adults with disability may show behaviours that are challenging or concerning to those around them. These behaviours can be complex, unpredictable, and at times harmful to themselves or others. They may also affect the person’s ability to participate in everyday life, build relationships, and feel safe and supported.
Often, these behaviours are misunderstood, which can lead to stress and anxiety for families and carers. That’s why it’s important to create a safe and understanding environment, using positive and proactive strategies. This approach not only helps reduce risk but also supports the person’s wellbeing and can lessen or even prevent challenging behaviours over time.
NDIS Behaviour Support with SNS Support Care
Everyone deserves to feel safe, while also having the right to express themselves, make their own choices, and live independently — even when behaviours are challenging. That’s where NDIS Behaviour Support comes in.

Positive Behaviour Support NDIS
What is Positive Behaviour Support?
Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) is an NDIS-funded service designed to assist people who face challenges due to cognitive or intellectual disabilities. Funded under the Capacity Building Supports budget, PBS helps individuals develop positive behaviours, engage socially, and build a strong, reliable support network.
Responding to challenging behaviour can be difficult, but with the right environment and support strategies, meaningful change is possible. A Positive Behaviour Support plan focuses on understanding the individual’s unique needs and circumstances—while respecting their independence, dignity, and freedom. Restrictive practices, such as physical restraint, are only considered as a last resort and always with the goal of ensuring the person’s safety while upholding their rights.
At SNS Support Care, we develop and implement PBS plans for eligible NDIS participants. Our experienced team works collaboratively with the individual, their family, support workers, and healthcare professionals to create a person-centred approach that empowers the individual to make their own decisions and live more independently.
PBS is ideal for NDIS participants whose behaviours affect their daily life and limit access to meaningful support. It can help individuals:
-
Develop essential life skills
-
Communicate more effectively
-
Manage their emotions
-
Build confidence
-
Increase their independence
